This message is to all that are thinking about joining the ranks of the Imperial Romulan Fleet and to those that are already members.
 
Currently I have been monitoring fleet activity as well as membership levels and I have not been impressed with the level of activity coming from those that are joining our group. So I respectfully ask that if you take the time to fill out an application that you show some level of activity within the fleet by either taking part in conversations or hoping on to TeamSpeak to get in on conversation or gameplay.
 
 
 
 
The following policies are being implemented effective immediately so please read carefully.
 
 
#1 - Members that apply to the fleet will be required to post and join on TeamSpeak. They will be required to post 10 times or more to graduate the academy. Any Cadet that fails to achieve 10 post from the time they to join up until and no longer than a period of 14 days will be booted from the IRF No Exceptions. (Current Cadets have until March 1st, 2012 to meet this requirement)
 
 
 
#2 - All current Galae Officer's will be required to maintain a minimum of 15 post per month in order to retain there fleet status.Any officer that should fail to meet this requirement will receive a notice via PM with a low activity warning after which if they remain inactive they will be removed from the Fleet. (Current Galae Officer's have until the end of March to meet this requirement)
 
 
*Amendments have been added to the fleet charter*
 
Should any officer find any of these new polices unfair or biased please feel free to contact me via private message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  
 
 
 
 
While currently I am opposed to implementing policies regarding TeamSpeak activity please note that this is not a free service. The Command Staff is providing this for use for all members and we encourage the use of it as it makes for a great social and gaming tool. You do not need a microphone to take place in conversation on TeamSpeak. Should activity levels not increase I will consider implementing these policies in the near future.

    Just a quick reminder to everyone that we are trying to keep the Role Play threads, here in the IRF forums, clean of comments to the author. The reason behind this, is it distracts from the storyline for both the author and reader. 

Currently, we have a general RP discussion thread where we can all comment on each others work. Another idea, if the author wants to keep comments on his/her work separate from those of others, would be to great a second thread with the same title as the RP story s/he is creating, with the word "discussion" in brackets, behind the title. For example:

Just want to start off with saying Happy New Year to all and hope everyone enjoyed there holiday season. My applogies for not updating everyone with a list of current stuff. However there wasnt much to report on the Romulan front these past couple weeks. However as Solok mentioned awhile ago most of this news is going to come from a galaxy far far away!
 

As many of you already know we have begun operation's within Star Wars The Old Republic the Order of Rihannsu (Republic Side) and the just recently launched Imperial Rihannsu Clan (Empire Side) are now both active and can be found on the same server, Jedi Covenant, if anyone needs invites there should be ample amount of officer's on both fronts to make sure you get an invite. Fvillha is the current guildmaster for the Republic Fleet and I am the current guildmaster for the Empire Fleet so if you need anything at all or have questions/concerns you can feel free to contact one of us or one of the assigned officer's in game or the forums.
 
 
Moving on to the next thing and something some of you have been waiting for and that is the current promotion's list. Some of you have been promoted once, twice, or maybe three times over the course of the last couple months so some of you will be getting a significant jump in rank. Now to award and recognize those officers for there dedication and service.
 
The following officers are being promoted within the Imperial Fleet,

Just a few things in this months latest of IRF news.
 
First of all congradulations goes out to Sub-Commander Aeryn t'Laris who has just been recently promoted to the High Command and is now our current Deputy Fleet Ambassador. She will be training with DeRhamme over the course of the next few weeks in all things diplomacy. Congrats is well deserved to someone who has been with us for quite some time.
 
Also a congradulation goes out pkrikard on being Octobers member of the month, although a recent member you have been very active with us and for that we here at High Command HQ salute you.
 
Another great announcement is the formation of the Order of Rihannsu SW:ToR guild for the IRF. For those planning on playing The Old Republic we have formed a guild on the Republic side just so we can get a head count and start planning play times and operations as a fleet. If your curious about the Sith side we havent formed a group on that side yet however if there is enough interest and high demand for it then we will create another guild on the Sith side in advance. We will however be creating one once the game goes live anyhow so be patient young padawan.
 
 
Just in from the Tal Shiar Headquarters is a letter from Chiarman Zelgos to inform any Fleet officers interested in joining the Tal Shiar that they have 2 open spots and are in high need of filling them, while most details are classified I can say that anyone that has graduated the Academy can apply. To apply simply send a coded message to Zelgos and he will let you know the rest of the information. I can also tell you that you must be very active within the group to even be considered.
 
Speaking of positions open we have only 1 High Command seat to fill and that is the Operations Officer position, minimum requirements are 3 months active within the fleet or minimum rank of Centurion. If your interested send me a PM and I will setup a time for us to meet. For details on this position see the About Us Page.

Welcome to this edition of Romulan news. Just a few things to cover in this edition most of which you already know or should know.
 
Recently you may have seen a few changes to our website. I have updated our website skin and features list which now streamlines everything for all members. We now have an Operations tab that you may have seen already, this will serve as a place for all our group activities and over the course of the next few days we will start placing events on the calendar, from there you can RSVP or discuss the event with other members of the group which will help keep a head count. This tab is a members only area so if your not registered or signed in you wont be able to access this area. I have also updated the About Us Page and encourage everyone to take a look at a few changes that have been made.
 
 
One big change some of you may have seen recently was another member was added to the Star Command group. I would like to congradulate Erei'Dhaemnasi Solok on his recent promotion to Vice-Chairman of the Tal Shiar. After being approved by a landslide vote by High Command, Solok has begun training and working on Tal Shiar ops and has been a valued member in the fleet for a long time now. While I cant discuss Tal Shiar operations openly I can assure that the Tal Shair will be working to be more active in the group and to be the most feard intelligence agency in the galaxy.
 
 
Speaking of High Command, we currently have 2 positions that are open and need immediate filling, those positions are

There have been a few recent changes to certain things lately new forums being one of them, however today I would like to annouce our new home for VoIP communications, TeamSpeak 3 (TS3). Its the latest in VoIP technology and will help communications for those gaming within the fleet or for just chatting it up with friends in the fleet. This will be our new permanent home for the future. While I dont want to discuss what went down and why we have got all new equipment for the group in the past few months I will tell you that everything new will be for good. For those familar with Ventrilo or TeamSpeak 2 then you should have no issues at all. Simply download the program from the following link http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads after you have installed the program simply hit the Join Server button here on the main website and it will connect automaticly for you. For the users that are very familar with this program our Hostname is RomulanStarEmpire.instantts.com or IP address 66.228.112.15, Port # is 8693. I will be montoring this program over the next month as I have us on a basic plan, should we need more slots I will add them and if I notice alot of problems like I did with Mumble I will simply switch us to something better. Should things go well I will extend our service period for alot longer.

New IRF forums are operational and ready for posting. There was an issue with our partners Modcraft. My appologies to the members that may have lost there content in any part of the forums. Rest assered however that this will not happen again. If you are having any problems viewing or posting things on the new forum please contact me right away so I can look into the issue for you. Welcome to the August edition of Romulan news.
 
First off I would like to congradulate all the Cadets that graduated out of the academy and into our ranks this past month. I would also like to congradulate the following officers on there recent promotions,
 
Senior Centurion Solok to the rank of Sub-Commander
 
Centurion Aeryn t'Laris to the rank of Senior Centurion
 
Congrats to both of them as they are long time members with a great reputation in the fleet.
 
 
I would also like to congradulate Solok on being July's Member of the Month, I did not get a chance to put in in the last news letter however better late than never.
 
Now to announce the August Member of the Month, and this months MOTM is Erein SenatorSosuhno! Congrats and I have updated the MOTM on the website to reflect this.
 

Moving on to more pressing issues within the fleet,
 
I have noticed that some members are registered on the website or members within the STO community but have yet to register on the forums, please be sure to register on the forums as well, as the website and forums are 2 different systems. Just want to make sure all the members are receiving the lastest information within the forums. I would also like to point out that SenatorSosuhno has been putting up lots of great RP content in the forums for everyone to read so if you haven't looked at it yet I highly recommend it especialy if your into RPing.
 
 
To those in the STO community you may have recently noticed that you were either promoted or demoted within the game roster. I have updated the rank names and permissions for those in the group. Your rank within the group will reflect your rank in-game properly now. The following is a layout of how it will work in-game now;
 
Erei'Erein, Cadet Rank, Limited Permissions!
 
Junior Centurion in STO will cover fleet ranks Erein and Erei'Arrain
 
Senior Centurion in STO will cover fleet ranks Arrain and Enarrain
 
Commander in STO will cover fleet ranks Erei'Riov and Riov
 
Tal Shiar in STO will be for all Tal Shiar Officers
 
Command Staff in STO will be for all Command Officers within the Imperial Romulan Fleet
 
Fleet Commander in STO will be for Fleet Commanders within the Imperial Romulan Fleet 
 
 
Please refer to the STO Fleet bank for a list of current permissions for your rank. As more members join and donate to the fleet bank we will modify the permissions accordingly. If you pull an item from the bank please donate some EC to the bank to help cover cost. If you have any crafting materials you aren't using please place them in the bank and someone in the group will craft items for either new members/characters or any member who wants something specific.
 
 
Well this covers the latest news within the group. If there is something I have left out or did not include I will be sure to cover it in the next edition.

I would like to welcome everyone to our new website. Our new home has many features compared to our last website which had little to none to say the least. Some of the highlights of the new website include,
 
Group Chat Feature - Now all members can chat online in real time without the need for 3rd party applications.
 
Application Module - Will allow for quicker applcations for those interested in joining our community.
 
Easy To Manage - All our command staff members will be able to update and manage the website as they see fit.
 
Member List - Real time member list of who is in the fleet and what group they are part of.
 
There are many more features to explore within the site and I will leave that up to you.
 
All Exsisting members are to register and resend there applications in asap! Your application will handled quickly as you are already a member so you dont have to wait. Our member list here will be in sync with STO so if your not on our website then you will be removed in game as well.
 
There have also been many updates in the Group Charter which can be found on the about us page, as well as updates to the awards and ranks within the group.
